Wrists for Rights bakes it up for the BBIS talent show

With only a little bit of flour, cornflakes, condensed milk, chocolate, oatmeal, apple, and honey, Hannah, Alice, and Maya, three of TGS’s most talented bakers, whipped up amazing delicacies. In two hours, chocolate muffins, apple crumble, caramelized apples, brownies, and chocolate cake appeared on the plates. Hannah reflected:

Even though we were lacking in some of the major ingredients, it was okay because we were doing it for a cause.

Wrists4Rights made a first appearance in the BBIS talent show, with people making posters, helping set up the booth, and luring people to the dessert. The goal? To sell desserts and bracelets to raise money for Wrists4Rights.

When the idea and opportunity presented itself, the students stepped up to take the initiative, turning a dream and a concept into reality. Students led the initiative from talking to the BBIS staff to putting up the final touches. People volunteered to take photos, make videos, as well as sell. As the days ticked by counting down to the event and the official appearance of Wrists4Rights, the students came together in meetings. In the breaks between classes and at dinner, many whisperings of ingredients and prices were heard. Charis reported:

It wasn’t the best of appearances, but the important thing is that people came and worked together.

All the desserts were not sold, but even so, a full plate and a half was gone before the event ended. The mouth-watering apple crumble was the bestseller with its amazingly creamy and rich flavor, not too sweet, not too dry.

After the evening, it was back to the drawing boards, to assess, evaluate, and try again.

Our lives no longer belong to us alone; they belong to all those who need us desperately.

TGS students are slowly making a change, one step at a time in the ways TGS can. TGS has already culminated the school spirit, and in the future, Wrists4Rights will appear in the charity scene stronger than ever.
