On April 25th, 2015, a 7.8 magnitude earthquake stuck in Nepal — the country’s worst in 80 years. Nepali Nangsal Lama, an intern during our first year of operation, has shared details about the dire circumstances surrounding her village in the Manaslu region. Due to the high altitude, it is difficult for many NGOs to reach this area. If you’d like to help provide shelter, food, and medical supplies, a fundraising campaign has been set up to directly help the residents of the Manaslu region. Our thoughts are with everyone affected by the earthquake at this time.

THINK Global School was pleased to present the world-renowned researcher Hans Rosling for a public lecture on Wednesday, 6 October, at 19:00 at Cirkus in Stockholm. Rosling discussed current economical, social and environmental changes and trends on a global scale.

About Hans Rosling

Rosling is Professor of International Health at Karolinska Institute and Director of the Gapminder Foundation. Rosling is well known for his visual, animated representations of data using the Trendalyzer software system developed by his Gapminder foundation. His presentations on economic development, agriculture, poverty and health in Africa, Asia and Latin America are rooted in data, facts and statistics, yet his thought-provoking delivery is entertaining and often humorous. His presentations invite the audience to question so-called “accepted facts” and instead think critically about our world. His presentations are deemed “humorous, yet deadly serious” as he reveals data that shatter preconceived notions and antiquated paradigms.

This public lecture was organized by THINK Global School. Tickets were available free of charge.
