I grew up in Pennsylvania, but I feel most at home in Colorado. I earned my BS in Math Education from Pennsylvania State University and my M.Ed. in Adventure Education from Plymouth State. I have spent most of my professional career teaching secondary math courses and incorporating outdoor adventure into the curriculum. I have also worked as a wilderness therapy field guide and a team-building facilitator.
My goal as an educator is to facilitate learning opportunities that encourage students to ask questions, persevere along the path of curiosity, and make meaningful connections. I find out what creates a spark inside each student – and fuel that.
I embody the core value of Meraki. I feel energized and driven when I channel my creative energy and passion into my work. I believe what I’m doing is less important than how I’m doing it. As long as I’m showing up with love, I’m on the right track.
I can’t wait to visit the village of El Chorro in Spain. I’m drawn to the canyon views from the Caminito del Rey, and the Bobastro ruins. I will spend my time rock climbing, hiking, and cliff jumping.
