My name is Christina Randall, and I grew up in New Haven, Connecticut. Before TGS, I graduated from Yale with a BA in Political Science and a concentration in international affairs. I then decided to enter education and have worked in a variety of settings, including in a high school in France and non-profit youth programs, and most recently as a high school Spanish instructor in Connecticut. I’m excited to work in a school where I can use both my background in international affairs and education!
I enjoy learning what my students are passionate about and discovering new things through them. I also love hearing the unique perspectives and approaches to a challenge stemming from the diversity of the group.
At TGS, students become producers of knowledge, not just consumers. It is also a model that truly encourages students to discover and chase their passions.
In language education, I believe in focusing on comprehensible input instead of grammatical rules, so that students learn in a natural and more memorable way. I have found the TPRS approach to be powerful in that regard.
Satya-live truth. To me, this is all encompassing; when you live your truth, everything falls into place.
One of my favorite memories was exploring a rainforest in Costa Rica at night to look for glass frogs. We found one!
I always feel drawn to revisit the places I’ve already been, but I would love to head anywhere where I can see the northern or southern lights.
Fluent Forever by Gabriel Wyner transformed how I understood one of my greatest passions, learning world languages! I believe it is a must-read for anyone venturing to learn a new language.
