I was born and raised in London (United Kingdom). Before arriving at TGS, I was part of the extended leadership team at an Outstanding Inner London School. I have taught Business Studies for over ten years to students ages 11 to 19. I have also been heavily involved in extra-curricular activities such as boxing, football, and table tennis.
The thing I love most about teaching is the positive impact it allows me to have on young people and as a consequence the wider society. I love that I can use my own experiences and expertise to guide and educate students.
I fell in love with the fact that students have some ownership over their learning. I also like that students are seen as individuals rather than percentages. This means learning for students will be personal, fun, and relevant; as an educator, this is how I envision learning. Thirdly I was tantalized that TGS is a globally aware school, birthing globally aware students and teachers; this is important as the world is slowly becoming one big market place.
My favorite travel experience thus far was definitely being on the Arabian/Persian Gulf watching Dolphins in the middle of the sea. It was nice to see these creatures in their natural environment rather than in a man-made tourist attraction. I would like to say I jumped in with them, but I didn’t.
Bali or the Solomon Islands, the images I’ve seen and the feedback I’ve heard has made these 2 places must-visit locations for me.
The Fault in our Stars, as it was an emotional rollercoaster which also highlighted how important it is to make the most of our lives.
