1. Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from and what were you doing before arriving at THINK Global School?

My professional background started with a Process Engineering degree in University College Cork. As a result of this strong background in Mathematical and Physics related subjects, I decided to undergo a career change, after completing my degree. I completed my Higher Diploma in education which gave me the qualifications that I needed to teach high school and middle school. Since 2004 I have been teaching Maths, Physics, Chemistry and general Science in a number of schools in Ireland and internationally. I taught in Ireland until 2013 and then decided that it was time to live abroad.

2. What aspects of THINK Global School’s educational model do you find most appealing?

What I find most appealing is the PBL aspect, as I feel that the learning that happens is far more profound than the traditional model but I also value the multicultural diversity amongst staff and students.

3. Describe your teaching style or philosophy. Do you have any unique teaching methods you use to keep students engaged?

I would describe my teaching style as practical, interdisciplinary and every changing. I enjoy the challenge of the learning environment constantly changing.

4. Which of our core values do you feel you most embody, and why?

Empathy is the core value that I most embody. I truly believe that in order to be success in this every changing environment that understanding, compassion and respect for others is key.

5. What is your most memorable travel experience thus far?

Most memorable is not necessarily the happiest but my most memorable is getting held at gunpoint to the head in Peru with a group of friends and then being robbed of everything I own.

6. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be?

have been to almost everywhere that I have wanted to visit but two destinations that are still on my list are Bora Bora and Alaska.
