1. Tell us a bit about yourself. Where are you from and what were you doing before arriving at THINK Global School?

I grew up in a small town outside of Chicago, USA, and attended college in an even smaller town where I double majored in Integrated International Studies and Spanish Literature. While studying, I spent a semester in Argentina and a semester in Spain and just never wanted to stop traveling after that! Once I completed my degrees, I spent 8 months traveling in Europe and a year living in Australia. When I returned home, I went back to school for my Master’s degree in higher education and began working in their Center for Global Education where I worked with both international students and education abroad students.

2. What aspects of THINK Global School’s educational model do you find most appealing?

The autonomous nature of the curriculum is incredibly unique and I think it encourages students to become lifelong learners. They are given skills beyond taking a test to really understand themselves and the world around them.

3. Which of our core values do you feel you most embody, and why?

I resonate the most with 求知欲 Qiú Zhi Yù, which is a thirst for knowledge – be open, be curious, and challenge assumptions. I think curiosity is what drives all of us to continue learning, but there will be very little growth if we don’t challenge what is presented to us and we aren’t open to hearing others’ opinions.

4. What is your most memorable travel experience thus far?

My first solo trip was to Cusco, Peru, and it holds a very special place in my heart. I was mentally prepared to spend 10 days completely alone, all in the efforts to visit Machu Picchu, but to my surprise, I met some amazing people and made friends that I am still in contact with today. It was in Peru that I first learned the kindness of people and it really ignited something in me to continue traveling and learning about different cultures and different people.

5. If you could visit anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I really want to go to Nepal!
