I grew up and attended university in Edinburgh, Scotland. After completing my degree I worked briefly as QA Tester at Rockstar Games before embarking on a career in IT Support. I worked in IT for 11 years in Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Stirling until 2017 when my wife I moved to Switzerland.
I love to keep active and Switzerland has been the perfect place to pursue many of my hobbies. I like to run regularly, taking part in many half and some full marathons. I have played football since I was a child and also enjoy playing basketball and skiing in the winter months.
I’d love to see more widespread student-led learning. I think it’s important that students get the chance to really sink their teeth into subjects they are truly passionate about.
Kaizen – Continually improve – be self-aware, responsible, and disciplined. I love to learn new things and gain new skills. It’s important to me to always be trying to improve myself, whether that’s in my job or just pushing myself to run a bit faster or longer.
So far, it has to be visiting Nepal. It’s a country like no other I have visited and I had always dreamed of visiting. The landscape is awe-inspiring and the people are the kindest people I have met traveling. Since visiting, I now dream of returning to trek to Everest Basecamp.
With no limits, I would love to travel the Trans-Mongolian railway from Moscow to Beijing via Ulaanbaatar. It covers a staggering distance and travels through a huge part of the world I have never had the chance to visit.
