Change is inevitable and finding consistency within the change is one goal of the Residential Life Team. There are many elements of THINK Global School that change frequently. Residential Life is one of them. In one term the residence can be a hotel in the middle of a city and in another it can be a dormitory at a boarding school in the countryside. Meals can also fluctuate; sometimes there might be access to a full kitchen and at other times meals might be served at a restaurant or in a dining hall. We learn from every situation we are in and we take notes of what works and what doesn’t so that as we evolve, we can apply what we have learned in order to make the experience better for everyone.
Change can be challenging but keeping a common thread throughout the change is the key. As the Director of Residential Life, that’s where I come into play. The Residential Life Team, made up of the interns, the Ecuadorian Host Country Specialist, and myself plan programs, and work to provide everyone with a school/activity balance. We offer support and consistency. We are a new team and as we are evolving with the school, we come up with more ideas to enhance the residential experience for students while keeping an exciting and manageable schedule.
As we wrap up our time in Ecuador, we begin to mentally prepare for the next big change. Change is exciting at THINK Global School because it means new experiences and new possibilities. The Res Life team will work quickly to make the next destination another home for the THINK Global School family.
