Read MoreThis month, THINK Global School and its traveling community of 36 have relocated 5,000 miles from Chiang Mai, Thailand to the third term location of Berlin, Germany. We landed into the open arms of Berlin Brandenburg International School, and students have already begun learning about European history and reflecting on literature about Berlin.
As part of a new term, teachers are learning new technologies and practices to incorporate in their classrooms, such as using Apple TV to project Mandarin and Math exercises live.
They broke a sweat in Physical Education class playing team sports such as a mash-up of kickball and matball. Art class this term is connecting directly to the local Berlin art scene with new instructor and local artist Cecile Evans. Science is incorporating physics, robotics, and sustainable engineering this term, making Berlin a perfect location for place-based learning. In Spanish, students are learning how to describe their new ‘home’ for the next three months.
We are in full swing and looking forward to a weekend of exploration in Germany’s capital.
