Read MoreWe are delighted to announce the appointment of Jamie Steckart as THINK Global School’s next head of school, effective August 1, 2014.
Currently principal of Qatar Leadership Academy, an IB World School, Jamie is widely recognized as an engaging school leader and visionary educator. He holds a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota, and is a licensed teacher, principal and superintendent. He has over twenty years of experience designing and leading schools that utilize place and project-based learning. As a former Outward Bound Expeditionary Learning Instructor and founder of an Expedition High School, he won a number of educational awards.
His aptitude, warmth, passion, and outstanding record of accomplishments made it clear that Jamie has the essential qualities and characteristics necessary to lead TGS successfully through the next phase of its history. He has an inspiring intellectual curiosity and a naturally collaborative leadership style — he is a strong believer in meeting the individual needs of each student, and he acts with great care.
Jamie will be joined by his wife, Angie Tenebrini, who is going to dedicate her time to the homeschooling of their three children.
Jamie’s appointment brings an intensive search process to an end. It involved the whole school and helped the TGS community to further develop its shared sense of purpose and vision. We would like to thank the faculty, staff, board, and students who contributed meaningfully to the process.
