Read MoreMorocco is an exquisite place where ancient traditions still reign. Also, Morocco is unlike any of the recent places that I have been since the medina and even the air itself are entirely different. One of the many unique things inside the medina are its arches. You may not even notice it, but when you look up from time to time, you will notice tiny details that you hadn’t before.
Another recent place I have visited is the seaside, where we all really wanted to go. This was also one of the places that I truly appreciated being at as the crashing waves were extremely refreshing and provided a sense of clarity. But of course, I had to include those times when the water would just keep splashing me.

Being Chinese, I also receive a lot of stares/interactions with the Moroccan people whenever I come across them. Strangely, they would often times attempt to say things in my languages. For instance, out of five crowds of people that I came across, four of those crowds would try to greet me in Chinese by saying, “ni hao.” The fifth group would end up saying, “annyeonghaseyo,” which is in Korean. Lastly, there was a Moroccan teenager that I met along the streets, and straight to the point he started to talk to me about games. I smiled and replied, knowing the game in which he was referring to, and we ended up having a conversation.
The day after we briefly talked we met again, but this time he was with a group of people and all of a sudden they started calling me “brother.” It was surprising how quickly you could immerse yourself into your surroundings and start friendships in just a snap. It was one of the many things in which I was really looking forward to — having a connection with the Moroccan society.
