Students rose in altitude on the 1.5 hour bus ride to arrive at the town of Ingapirca. The ruins steal the spotlight with their ideal location in town – on a hill with a view formiles. Students meandered through the layout of the ruins, running their hands over the perfectly chiseled rocks that interlock like a puzzle. Standing on the central building, the Temple of the Sun, the vista revealed the surrounding landscape of rolling hills, high altitude shrubbery, and a clear view of the sun’s movement across the sky.
