Podcast Overview: Arriving in a new country can be both exhilarating and overwhelming, especially when it is your first year in a new school. This is the position that TGS students River, Chau and Jonah found themselves in upon their arrival in Hyderabad, India for the start of the 2013-14 school year.
Recently, they sat down with TGS 12th grader Liam to share their first impressions of India and to reveal their initial misconceptions. During the roundtable, they also discussed technology in India and whether modernity is supplanting India’s traditional way of life, the presence (or lack of presence) of the caste system in Hyderabad, and what they hope to take away from India after the conclusion of the term.
