To date, Doug has been on the road for roughly 10 years and has visited more than 100 countries.
As America’s youngest nationally syndicated columnist, his weekly “Vagabond” column grew to reach more than 10 million readers in 40 major North American newspapers. Doug has since written a weekly travel column for The Guardian, taught journalism at Colorado College, published several books, hosted an hour-long travel documentary for the Discovery Channel/Travel Channel, and served as the regular world-travel expert on National Public Radio’s flagship travel program, Savvy Traveler, for five years.
Doug also tours on the lecture circuit and contributes to Esquire, National Geographic Adventure and other publications while serving as a travel editor for Scandinavian Airlines in-flight magazine.
