Nils Olsen is trained as a Social Psychologist and Statistician (Ph.D., University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) and approaches his research and teaching from a behavioral economics perspective. In terms of professional experience, Professor Olsen has worked with the Global Executive MBA Program at Duke University, Duke Corporate Education, Inc., the American Bar Foundation, the National Institutes of Mental Health (NIMH), and Deutsche Asset Management (Deutsche Bank). On the research side, Dr. Olsen is specifically focused on: (a) decision-making within high-intensity contexts (medical, legal, financial, athletic); (b) procedural justice (medical, legal, financial); & (c) choice. He has publications appearing in the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Social Cognition, and Academic Emergency Medicine, and has presented at a variety of venues, including The Association for Psychological Science, JP Morgan Chase (NY, NY), the Trading Floor of the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE), the Environmental Protection Agency, the International Convention on Science, Education, and Medicine in Sport (ICSEMIS), and The National Geographic Channel (Washington, DC).
