1) Hi Nada, can you tell us what you've been up to since graduating from THINK Global School in 2022? Since graduating in 2022, I've been pursuing a passion I found while at TGS, sustainability, and I am currently majoring in engineering in renewable energy systems at Al Akhawayn University, in Ifrane, Morocco. But there is way more than that! I've had a chance also to explore the world of...
Read More1) What advice would you give to prospective TGS students?
As cliché as it may seem, my number one piece of advice for students about to join TGS is to be curious. Be curious to challenge your beliefs, be curious to explore who you are in the context of the world, and be curious to explore all the different ways you can learn. Traveling and learning at TGS will definitely push you out of your comfort zone, but I encourage you to take those moments and explore them. A deeper understanding of where your weaknesses lie will ultimately lead you to grow, learn, and develop as a person. Being far outside our comfort zones and enjoying it is what makes TGS students truly unique.
2) How do you plan to apply the skills you’ve gained at TGS in your future endeavors?
TGS has taught me to adapt quickly to new environments and embrace change rather than fear it. In my next step, studying entrepreneurship in college, I am unsure where my experiences will lead me, but I’m sure that I will continue to be curious, empathetic, and determined – which are traits I now know are essential to being a TGS student but, more importantly, to being a true change maker.
3) How has being part of a diverse community influenced your understanding of different cultures and perspectives?
Learning about different cultures/lifestyles/ways of life from my friends has been a privilege. At TGS, no two people come from the same country, much less the same background. In my third year, I’ve come to understand these differences create opportunities to exchange cultural values and learn, moments that TGS students are not shy to explore.
The result is a vibrant community that appreciates and understands that our differences unite us rather than divide us. My perspective has shifted because it has expanded to include values I have learned from my classmates, host countries, and educators.
