A modern writer’s view of 21st century journalism

FOREIGN CORRESPONDENT NICHOLAS KULISH lives in Berlin, Germany and reports for The New York Times on all aspects of life for the surrounding European countries. Kulish visited the TGS students while conducting school in Berlin to answer their questions about the Euro Crisis and his intriguing career.

Does anyone here want to be a writer when they grow up? (many hands raise) …I discourage you…but I’m also proud of you.

Kulish effortlessly drew in the students with his humor and perspective on the continuously evolving industry of journalism. Though they were discouraged to follow in his path if not utterly obsessed with writing, every student walked away with a greater appreciation and admiration for Kulish’s craft.
