The Big Apple

Whether getting lost on the subway or walking for miles by foot, I always found myself encountering new and fascinating sights while in New York City. Home to the yellow taxi cab and giant slices of pizza, NYC is constantly glowing and humming even into the wee hours of the morning.

Among NYC’s bright lights are its many advertisements, and Times Square feels like a breeding ground for them. I have never seen so many signs in one place in my life! It was incredible.

But, not all of NYC is this bright. In fact some areas, like Central Park and The Highline, are very nice and relaxing. These are a couple of places that I found perfect for reading, writing and even making some fun Vine videos with friends. I also really enjoyed Little Italy and China Town, which definitely had less advertisements and instead had a more market-like vibe. There were small stands with scarfs and sunglasses in many areas; China Town and Little Italy were full of fun restaurants and cute shops.

Basically, whether you are looking for the hustle and bustle of a big city or a nice place to read poetry, I would recommend New York!
