1) Hi Nada, can you tell us what you've been up to since graduating from THINK Global School in 2022? Since graduating in 2022, I've been pursuing a passion I found while at TGS, sustainability, and I am currently majoring in engineering in renewable energy systems at Al Akhawayn University, in Ifrane, Morocco. Read MoreTHINK Global School is excited to announce the addition of James Wei to its Board of Trustees. James joins existing board members Joann McPike, Harald McPike, and Mark Benno in overseeing all strategic decisions regarding THINK Global School.
James was the founder and CEO of Worldview Technology Partners, a venture capital firm in the San Francisco Bay Area, and has helped guide many IT and Biotech companies to success. Worldview pioneered the concept of combining patient investing with assisting startup technology companies to become global players. James pioneered business development services for startups to bridge the gap between technological innovations and gaining global market insights.
James represents a brilliant fit for the Board of Trustees, given his ongoing support for schools centered around innovative curriculums influenced by studies in artificial intelligence, genomics, digital media, and environmental systems
Regarding James’ addition to the board, THINK Global School Founder Joann McPike shared the following: “I am so excited to have James join our small board. His enthusiasm for alternative education practices matches our own, and I look forward to seeing how his input and imagination can contribute to our school. We want to keep challenging TGS, and James has some amazing ideas on how we can do this.”
Over the past several years, James and his wife have employed a similar mindset to THINK Global School in educating their two young sons. They’ve done so by sailing around the world, letting their boys learn through a blend of firsthand cultural experiences, project-based learning, and a student-centered philosophy. This embrace of concepts so closely linked to THINK Global School’s Changemaker Curriculum led to a mutual admiration between James and school founder Joann McPike, eventually leading to James’ offer to join the Board of Trustees.
Alongside supporting schools and educational projects, James is heavily invested in cutting-edge endeavors related to conservation and healthcare. Through these projects, he hopes to use medical sciences like biomedicine and genomics to curb the environment’s destruction from climate change and deregulation while also finding a cure for cancer and other terminal illnesses.
THINK Global School also looks forward to leveraging James’ expertise in these scientific fields to produce STEM-centered project-based learning modules that stimulate our students’ imaginations and provide real, lasting benefits for the communities that we call home.
