I grew up in Northamptonshire, England but now live in London. I’ve always loved sports and the arts, in particular lacrosse and musical theatre – these were a major part of my life all throughout school and university. After school, I moved to Wales to study Politics and International Relations at Cardiff University, where my passion for cooking really flourished.
Cooking for me is a way to connect and care for others. Having been raised by a Portuguese mum and an Iranian Dad, food was always a way to share their culture, history, and love. I take this concept forward and love hosting and cooking for those around me.
Prior to TGS, I worked in finance, hospitality, and as a nanny. Each experience taught me something different about people, community, and myself, and I am grateful for each opportunity I have had.
I love knowing that the work I do in some way or another helps make it possible for students to experience this once in a lifetime opportunity.
I love all aspects of Think Global’s education model, and if I’d had the opportunity, I would have loved to attend myself. What resonates with me most is the chance to experience firsthand what you’re learning about, rather than simply reading about it in a classroom. I think that kind of immersive learning creates a much deeper understanding of both the subject matter and the world around you.
I would work to remove the barriers that prevent millions of children around the world from accessing education.
I resonate with so many of them, but if I had to narrow it down, I would say 改善 Kaizen (Japanese) and Compassion; I believe the whole purpose of life is to learn and continually grow, and part of that is working to understand others, as we need community to thrive.
My most memorable travel experience was wild camping in the Cairngorms with friends. We hiked through the mountains, camped beside lochs, and swam in waterfalls, all while being surrounded by some of the most beautiful scenery I’ve
ever seen. The sense of adventure and complete escape from everyday life made it unforgettable.
I would love to visit Iran to see where my father grew up and better understand what life was like for him.
I love so many books, but a book I resonated with a lot was Everything I Know About Love by Dolly Alderton. I love it because it made me laugh, cry, and think all at the same time. Dolly Alderton writes in a way that feels very honest and
relatable, especially about friendship, growing up, and trying to figure life out. It reminded me how important friendships are and how comforting it can be to realise that other people have the same worries, mistakes, and awkward
moments as you. It’s funny, heartfelt, and the kind of book that stays with you long after you’ve finished it.
