I am from Alaska and was spending my time rock climbing, traveling the world, and writing books.
I really enjoy being able to see experiences and watch the progression of learning in real time. It is great to be able to bring the students to the places we read about in books.
I find the idea of learning in the moment and on the ground but also exposing students to the realities of a world that is both peaceful and always at tension.
I would make changes toward students learning environments. Add more windows, get rid of chairs and rigid desks, and open the space in the classrooms.
Empathy, I always believe that if we had more empathy in the world for all living creatures than we would live in a much better world.
My most memorable travel experience is the one I’m experiencing now. I think we should always be building on our previous experiences with new life changing moments.
I’d like to visit Antartica because it feels so much like a different world.
I’m not sure I could ever bring something down to a favorite, but Neil Gaiman is one of my favorite authors. Cat’s Cradle by Kurt Vonnegut is the book that taught me reading could be fun again and is a big part of the reason I read today.
