I am humbled to be part of a community like THINK Global School. Today, as an alum living in New York City, I am often reminded of just how essential my experience with TGS was regarding my ongoing inner growth and efforts to be a conscious individual wherever I stand. This school –which redefines the common definition of school– offered me the opportunity to learn about adaptability and tolerance. Life at THINK Global School puts you face-to-face with everything: cultural differences, academics, religions, relations – everyday presents something new. I learned to focus my energy on being a human who can relate to people on a familiar level, no matter where they are from, and became a learner who takes advantage of all environments. And fortunately, at 19 years of age, I felt capable of leading a group of younger students through Tokyo’s busy streets, managing a food budget and cooking for myself, while simultaneously completing the rigorous curriculum. Regarding academics, studying at TGS engaged me on courses to a degree that my common perspective on travel became severely influenced by anthropological theories learned in class. Living in over nine countries with friends from over twenty countries has inspired me to bridge differences and ameliorate disparities in Ecuador and beyond. My three years at THINK Global School proved to me that the thin thread that connects us all on earth is there to be strengthened and not broken. As a graduate of THINK Global School, I am grateful for today and irrationally optimistic towards a future that I can design.
