What makes TGS great is the community we build between each other. There is no one else on earth who is going to understand what it’s like to be a TGS student, and because of that we have an incredibly tight community here and I’m so grateful. A while ago, my first year, I was on the Tohoku trip with a group of students and that was definitely the most pivotal thing I’ve ever done at TGS. A lot of it might come from growing up in a bubble town of 30,000 where everyone knows everyone, but that Tohoku trip managed to open up this community to us in a way that I’ve never had a community other than my own. And I think that’s when I started feeling like I wasn’t the Montana kid anymore, I was almost a global citizen. TGS has made me really want to capitalize on those abilities and connect to the world in a lot more ways, and I don’t know about how I want to go about that, if writing is the solution, or videos, or being a human being, but I have a much clearer vision of what makes me happy.
