I found THINK Global School during the fall term of my 9th grade year, on Google of all places. Because I grew up in Gothenburg, Sweden, with two Estonian parents, I spent a fair share of my childhood travelling back and forth between the Swedish west coast and the Baltic States, and elsewhere in Europe. I knew I wanted to continue travelling, to discover the world and to get to know myself better that way, but at the same time I also wanted to gain a strong academic background from high school. I honestly did not think I would get in to TGS. I wrote a few essays as part of my application during the fall term and asked my then English teacher, who wrote my recommendation letter, to not tell anyone as I didn’t believe I stood a chance of getting in. My worries were unfounded, though, as, I got in after a few emails here and there along with some Skype interviews! Therefore, I moved to Buenos Aires at the age of sixteen and was terrified. I had a few of the most hectic, stressful, educational, memorable, and shortest months and years of my life. I have no idea who I would be today without those experiences, but I certainly would not have the same strong academic background that has helped me greatly with my MSci in international relations and global issues at university, nor would I be the same outgoing and bubbly person who is unafraid of interacting with lecturers, friends, teachers, and people from all over the world. At the same time, I don’t think I could be more proud to say I was the first Swede to graduate from THINK Global School!
